Fast Indian Fry Bread

Description:
I received this recipe in June 2000.
Marge Pahmahmie was well know for her fry bread in Horton Kansas.
She use to make dishpan's of dough for many of the Indian functions!
This is a smaller version of her recipe, for 5 or 6 rounds of bread.
If I can make this anyone can!

Ingredients:
2 cups flour (all purpose)
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon active yeast (Rapid Rise)
1/8 cup dry powdered milk (2 Tablespoons)
1 teaspoon sugar
warm water
oil for frying

Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients well. Add enough water to make biscuit like dough.
Take about 3 Tablespoons of dough, make into ball and roll in flour.
Using hands stretch to THIN flat rounds (like pancakes).
Make two 1 inch slits in the center of the round.
(I just poke my finger through to make two holes.)
The oil should be about 2 inches deep in pan, keeping oil hot.
Fry in oil at 365 degrees until lightly browned, turning once.

Use Fry Bread for:
Indian Tacos or Top with Cinnamon and Sugar, Butter and Honey, Pocket Meat Pie, etc.

To make Indian Tacos,
Top fry bread with cooked brown beans, browned hamburger meat or taco meat, lettuce,
grated cheese, diced tomatoes, chopped onions, sour cream, black olives or anything you like.
