Lost Bread



Description:
Called Lost Bread or Pain Perdue.
This is what we call french toast.

Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon Sugar
4 slices bread
1 egg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
few drops vanilla
Honey or Powder sugar

Directions:
Beat eggs, add salt, sugar, milk and vanilla.
Pour into a shallow dish, dip bread into mixture
and let it absorb as much as possible on both sides.
Place slices in greased pan and put in 400* oven,
until dry and brown or brown in skillet on top of stove in plenty of butter.

Serve plain or top with butter and honey or Powdered sugar.
